Typhoon Rebuilds

The various postings regarding Typhoons and Typhoon bits always make me curious as to how the Typhoon has managed to do so badly in the survival stakes. Why is it so difficult to rebuild and why are the projects so difficult. I know that there are some bits that are very difficult to produce such as wing spar brackets and the like. The Sabre is not in anyway particularly common and certainly not in an airworthy condition. However these two bits aside the airframe aside is pretty straight forward. If it is possible to build vertually new Spit and Hurri fuselages then surely the Typhoon is just a bit of a half and half. Comments anyone ?
