The Typhoon is of suprisingle simple construction. It maintains Hawkers standard construction and so many lessons have been learned from the Hurricane. Unlike the Hurricane however the rear fuselage has been changed.....to a simple monocoque section.
TonyM....I recently learned that the RAF should still have Hawkers filing cabinet. Apparently the to draw containes Sopwith Pup microfilms and the bottom draw contains Harrier with everything else in between. I have someone trying to track it down....Hope this is successful as these drawings can then be released (why BAe can't donate a copy of their microfilms to the RAF musuem is beyond me).
Main spars seem to be difficult to locate at the moment....all I need is an example and they can be copied!!!
As for the complicated cowling....I found out the Tempest V is the same as the Typhoon with some extra bits added to reshape the wings. Copies of the RAFs have been made and there are at least 2 sets of moulds/jigs in the country!!! Want to make any extras Tom?
Still trying to locate an elusive ditched Typhoon!!!
