Gareth,
It still exists and is in Holland. It used to be on display at Twente air base but the museum is now closed. I understand that a new location has been found but no details are known yet.
This section is the rear fuselage just aft of the cockpit and ends just in front of the fin. The reason why it survived because it was used as a shower cabin (it's true). It was put upright and buckets of water were poured in from above. There is still a patched up door to be seen on the section, where the persons used to enter the cabin. One side is in original colours and markings, the other side has been restored and repainted. I must have a photo somewhere.
There is also the topsection of a vertical fin on display at Deelen.
Hope this helps
Cees
