Yes I know that there are a lot of high costs quoted in this respect particularly for German and Japanese (read rarer) engines. I once had a very short chat with the late Paul Morgan in the respect of Formula 1 engine limited runs. It appears at first sight that if a production run of 110 plus of any engine type was carried out such as occurs in formula 1 (different style of engines completely but the quality expectations are similar)then you are in a similar ball park in terms of cost.

Minardi just paid Cosworth US $10M for use of approx 100 or $100,000.00 each for engines for this year and that was with profit included. There are also liability issues involved here so the example has some validility to it?
