Paul, what is the difference here? If you retrieve something, replace all of it and then put it outside, how is it different from a "data plate"? There will never be a complete dataplate job, all of them use some original parts or components. As for a straightforward dataplate job, give an example...Possibly Flugwerk is an exception, but even the owners of those can add original horizontal stabs and wingtips when/if they become available. What will that do to the eventual resale? If Flugwerk "recovered" 10 190's from holes in Festung Europa, added the dataplates as like the F3Fs would they be more original? While I cherish the originals", the future of the movement and market will be continuation aircraft. How they are viewed will have to be adjusted as I am sure that we will see Preddy's Mustang, and other war relics ressurected to fly again in the next few years. What is there to dig up? Probably some molten aluminum, fasteners and hardware that is unusable. But watch the stir when someone applies for the number. Dan is right.

PS Paul, when I start my A5M production line, I want sequential serials...HA HA

PS2 With all the Zeros under construction, when will we have a two seater, the way the IJN had? Also how bout a Rufe to base near the Tower Bridge?

Joe, off on a rant...
