Mike,

From what I've learned, usually any ex-military type of aircraft that is in civilian hands is considered a warbird. In the case of a B-52, it would need to be flying and privately owned, which is very unlikely. While it is an older aircraft, the museum planes are just that, grounded military aircraft. Some people like to think of just prop powered aircraft as being warbirds, but in reality, the current collections of ex-military jets are also in that category. Trainers are also categorized as warbirds, and some people like to call them warbugs. Just my opinion......Roger
