Spy,
Putting the RAF serial in "quotes" suggests that the serial is spurious such as the "MT928" carried by MV154, Rob Lamplough's Mk.VIII, and "TB597" carried by RR263, the Mk.XVI at the Musee de l'Air. Peter Godfrey's two seater is no different to several flying and project Spitfires, notably the 'Snake Valley' aircraft, that are basically new build aircraft incorporating fuselage structure with proven provenance. In Peter Godfey's case he has the frame 5 firewall and a short section of front fuselage from MH367. It is clearly stencilled MH367 on the lower spar cover and carries the firewall data plate CBAF 5487.
