Spitful reconstruction possibiltiy?

Hi all,

Peter A recently mentioned a wish for a Spiteful reconstruction using a pair of Attacker wings, which of course were Spitful wings adapted for the jetfighter (another wingswapstory, try to say that out loud three times in quick succession).

Have there ever been serious plans to do such a reconstruction? If such a reconstruction was ever to take place, where could we find a pair of Attacker wings? There is only one Supermarine Attcker extant at Yeovil. Using a Spitfire Mk 2* tail section and Griffon we're nearly there.

What do you think about the feasability of such a project. This would surely fill a gap because this type marked the end of the piston engined fighter.
