If I'm correct this is the same scrapdealer that donated Spitfire II P7350 to RAF Colerne and saved her for posterity and the BBMF. Now if they had done the same to at least one Spiteful, oh well.
I agree that the topline of the later Spitfuls looked more like a straight line and higher as opposed to the Spitfire's curves.
I think Spitfire RM694 is still wingless in the USA, but that's a highback Mk XIV, but you could convert it into the prototype, that would be the easiest conversion. Now, if only the owner would donate it to the WIX, wishful thinking again.
Careful about the push/pull rods, that was cause of its crash killing Frank Furlung unfortunately.
