Why do you love Warbirds?

Hi All,

Although I have always had a great fondness for Warbirds, it was not until one year ago, today, that I became a true fanatic.

This is the Anniversary of the email I received informing me that the remnents of my Uncle's P-51B had been located, and recovered from Lake Louisa.

So, I can always look to that moment as the time when I totally fell in love with these old planes. Especially Mustangs!

I'm curious as to everyone else's experience. Have you always loved WWII aircraft, or can you point to a specific incident that precipitated your passion for these planes? Just curious......
