Long held rumour that some of the aircrfat that were used in Nuclear Testing during 1950's in Oz were Spitfires and at the end they were dumped in said mine shaft.. This pops up now and again, as Tony says but not proved one way or other.

Rumour must have comre from somewhere!

But as they have not been found perhaps this is means they did not exist!
