Spitfire MkXI PL983 has be purchased with 'a view to long term restoration'.
This comes under "News from HFL/ARCO"
I know that Spitfires for restoration are starting to dry up, but surely there must be better examples than this aircraft.
I know it says a ?view to a long term restoration? but this was a very public accident and I'm not sure if people are ready to see this particular aircraft again.
I?m sure that the restoration will be treated with the respect it deserves, but it is one Spitfire that I think should be buried.
Just my thoughts.
Philip
