Well, that was a bit of an extreme response. Maybe if you knew the person who was kill in PL983 you would look at this differently.

You are correct when you said that we have plenty of Spitfires over here and we are fortunate to have them where they belong ? In the air, but when one crashes taking the life of it?s pilot, I feel that the aircraft should be put away (ok not necessarily scrapped as I may have implied in my first post) for a long period of time.

It was inevitable that PL983 would be rebuilt at some point but there is a lots of surprise here that its restoration has been announced so soon.

As I said, these are just my thoughts. I do not appreciate being accused of trying to ground all warbirds.
