Where's the cow?

Guys, I don't usually send or post stuff like this, but it is too good to just let it be! A full version appeared on the Airlinerworld magazine, Dec2002.

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!! (OR: Don't have a cow!)

Earlier in 2002, the crew of a Japanese trawler was rescued from the Sea of Japan, clinging to the wreckage of their ship. Rescue was followed by incarceration, when the authorities questioned the survivors. (And found their story to be, to put it mildly, a "cowboy" tale.)

They claimed that a cow, falling from the clear sky, had struck them amidships and caused their trawler to sink within minutes.

The crewmembers remained in prison for several weeks, until . . . .the Russian Air Force reluctantly informed the Japanese, that the crew of one of their cargo planes, had apparently stolen a cow they found wandering at the edge of an airfield in Siberia.

They forced the cow into the airplane and hurriedly left for home. The Russian aircrew, unprepared for handling a rampaging cow onboard, in order to save the aircraft -and themselves- had to shove the cow out of the aircraft, as they crossed over the Sea of Japan, at an altitude of
30,000ft. 'nough said.
