The mark system for the Lanc isn't exactly related to how far developed the plane was.
The B.I was British built with RR engines
The B.III was British built with Packard engines
The B.X was Canadian built.
All those aircraft were developed throughout the war with additions to their equipment and minor modifications to the airframe (eg deletion of windows in the fuselage side, moving of pitot head, different bomb bay doors etc).
Such as the B.VI were only built experimentally (I think there were 6?), and the B.VII differed only in the turrets fitted, I believe...
