It's the amount of continuous combat , the odds the Luftwaffe aicraft / pilots flew against and often overcame [ till late war at least], the amazing variety of camouflage and markings , the innovative tactics and finally the futuristic and far reaching designs that flew and fought [ jet and rocket propelled ], and the even more amazing designs that didn't make it off the ground , but surely would have [ Go229 etc ] that makes the machines / men and history of the Luftwaffe fascinating !
Of course I am staying well away from the 'political / regime ' side of it .. which , in my opinion ,is irrelevant an aviation forum ;-0
