David,

You bring up many good points. After my post this morning, I gave some thought to what do I feel would be the proper, or ideal solution.

I think my main objection to all this, is the idea of someone making a "profit" from the death of others. In my opinion, If a plane is recovered with human remains the following should occur: 1) Service members should be removed, ideally with witnesses present, and given a proper funeral. 2) A determination of the potential future airworthiness of the plane should be made. 3) If it is deemed rebuildable, this should by all means be considered. 4) IF it is deemed unairworthy, it should be donated to a museum, or given to the family, or very well documented, i.e., pictures, video, etc..., and then destroyed.

For these things to occur, however, there has to be strict regulation. I take less issue with a plane that could be rebuilt, because I feel by rebuilding it you are honoring the memories of those lost. there is obviously no simple answer to any of these questions, but it would be nice to see a bit of sanity, and common sense.

These are of course just my opinions...
Karen
