......is that you can read exactly the same comments in Flypast 20 years ago - I know because I read them last week
when I was looking for that advert for a restoreable/complete Whitley from that bloke in Switzerland - a Russian entrepreneur perhaps before they became more common. As for the Hampden - i really hope to God that they don't pursue this bloody silly half and half restoration - if you want a "before" you've got the Halifax - lets have at least one complete HP product at Hendon -

rant over for the time being - I've been ranting for 20 years over the Halifax - the way it was built in sections means that bits could be farmed out all over the place and then brought back together like a giant airfix kit

I think I started the discussion about the NASM policy
My view is better to see them than not, don't do anything that can't be undone if you need to, and if you do a bit - do it to the standard of the Gekko Me 262 etc etc

While were at it, I still commend Bob Mikesh's book on Restoring Museum Aircraft (pub Airlife) to the House!

Ten more Stirlings to check out eh - that ups the odds of finding something then - lets hope RAFM get together with Whitley and Stirling groups for mutual benefit - while they're at it they ought to look at the hampden at East Kirkby - which sadly seems a bit moribund - sorry if I stand on anybody's toes by saying that but why spread thins too thinly - one complete a/c better than 2 halves
