But would that indicate that the organisation formed would have to have charitable status to be taken seriously?

I would suggest to set up an organisation based on WIX, but perhaps with a more appropriate name such as WIX Whirlwind project or something similar (any suggestions?).

About the ownership is it advisable to have this organisation have custody of the end result, insted of named private individuals, and that it can be displayed on loan at a certain location.

I agree that this is not the most intesting work but it needs to be done to have a good basis to work from.
