So you just found out, that UK museums are only interested in freebies? Yes they are. they will give you a lot of crap about lack of funding, and it isn't relevant. I was talking to an unnamed museum about a certain aircraft swap. The aircraft that was offered in exchange, would have fitted into the local history theme of their collection, but...."we're not interested, but, if you want to DONATE the aircraft?!!!!!!" F**K OFF!

Don't give up Richard, there must be a nose section you can marry it to. Also, I did post a link, about a chap in Bedfordshire I believe, who built a Lanc nose from Scratch, for his small Radio Museum, I bet he'd be interested, if you can work something out. There are also bits of Lanc in Germany, which can be obtained. Ironically, there are probably even German enthusiasts who would bite your hand off for that piece of aircraft.

One of the problems you have, is that right now E2 is not in particularly good shape, and therefore unattractive. Look at the space required, can you find someone, with enough space, to let you store the aircraft remains. It will also give you a chance, to find a permanent home for E2

Failing that, you can use the car-boot of last resort, and advertise it on Barnstormers *shudder* , with the proviso, it goes to a worthy home, or even ask Lee Walsh or Pete the Lanc , if they know of a home for it , in their beautiful country.....
