Open Question,
Does anyone have access to a photograph of the P-51D in wartime that is the pattern for Ferocious Frankie? I have a fine color WWII air to air in the William Grant book on Mustangs and it looks very different fromn the OFMC interpretation. Did they retain the yellow nose for sponsorship purposes?
Why was it painted in this way?
