Hiya Dave,
Yes I remember, from the last time you were over here, we were looking at some interesting Channel Island ditchings, but I still can't find that place that begins with "C" .You remember the one, hit by flak on a train strafe, good ditching, Pilot swam, from what I remember. Anyway, here's an excerpt of the e-mail...

...Hi Tony, Well now what can I remember of 1940 after so many years and the odd drop of panni has flowed under lots of bridges.
First off I do not have any photos taken during that period apart from one of the gang I worked with from 67M.U sitting on a crashed Beaufort near where we saw one of the Whirlwinds go in. We were at a place near Penzance called ( and don't check my spelling) Predanic, pronounced pregnic by the locals. I should say that the crash site is somewhere within 10 miles of Penzance and a talk with some one who was about ten in 1940 who was there would know where it is, probably got a couple of bits of aluminium to add to their collection!!! That's the one I told you about, with nothing left but the Pilots' hand and a couple of bits of aluminium.I will see what I have about the second Whirlwind and let you know
I have e-mailed a good friend of mine who always seems to have a photo of anything I happen to mention to see what he has in the way of Whirlwind pics.
Somewhere in my memory is a glimmer that I have some film of a flight of Whirlwinds on one of the collected WW2 video tapes sent to me from UK, I live in OZ now up north hot and steamy and in my 79 year so get in quick before it is too late, I get a few queries each week from the bio site mostly people wanting help with what happened to grandad or uncle etc, have a number running at the moment but always try my best to help, so keep asking may turn over a brain lump and find what you want!!
