There might be a better bet other than P7048 G-AGOI
P7002 ex 263 and 1367 Sqn. Flew into sea in flat calm and ditched of Deal in Kent on 14th April 1943.
Firslt, Franks does NOT list this as a Combat loss on this date, so assumed training mission. I do not know if the pilot got out OK. Prehaps Mick can investigate in his Whirlwind book..
With Tony's diver contacts I wonder if a twin engine plane is known of Deal???
Or prehaps a visit to the Westlands factory at Yeovil with a metal detector is in order!
Finally Mick asked about 4 School of Technical Training.. It is still current at St. Athan so prehaps they know where they were in the time frame Mick is interested in...
