I don't know about that, but I heard the film makers intended to convert three Percival Proctors into Stuka lookalikes, and fly them for the scene where Ventnor is attacked. I'm not sure how accurate the conversions would have looked, as I've never seen any photo's of them - come to think of it, I don't know whether any of the conversions even went ahead. Certainly the film eventually used large scale models for the relevant Stuka scenes...
