Thanks for that David, I can't think where I got the sum of ?97,000 from though, getting my auctions and aeroplanes mixed up probably ??

So all we need now is to find the rest of a Lancaster to rebuild TW911 (!)............unite the Lincoln RF342 with the Australian cockpit (serial anybody ?)........and find some more bits for KB994......and hey presto, we have a complete Lincoln and two more complete Lancasters !!
Simple really !

BTW, if TW911 is now on it's own in the big wide world then surely it is about time it was listed as a surviving nose/cockpit section, as even that chunk of Johnny Walker at Winthorpe is normally listed as a surviving Lancaster (!), depending on who compiled the list.

On the subject of four engined Avros, does anyone know if the centre wing section of a Shackleton is identical(more or less) with that of a Lancaster, or am I barking up the wrong tree (or just barking....WOOF !.....GRRRRRRR!)?

I think I am right that the wings of the Shack are the same (more or less) as those used on the Lincoln and Tudor, and the Lincoln was obviously developed from the Lanc but with longer outer wing panels, so it presumably is possible to use a Shack wing centre in a Lanc, and possibly even the outer wings also, suitably modified???

Very technical stuff I'm sure but it would be helpful to find out if ANYTHING from a Shack could ever be used in a Lancaster (or Lincoln) restoration, a la Elvington's Halifax, any help much appreciated as per.
Or if someone can point me in the right diection to someone with technical knowledge of Avro bombers I would be most grateful.

Dare I say it would be nice to see a Tudor re-appear one day, anyone know where there might be a fuselage or chunks thereof ?

TaTa
Mick
