As we all know, stories of buried aircraft abound. Wouldn't it be wonderful if some of these sites could be excavated - this particualr one would yield some incredible bounty.

At the risk of stating the obvious it is almost always landowners that hold up such excavations, which in some cases I suppose is understandable if they don't share our enthusiasm. Of course the Debden (Gentile) P-51B Mustang supposedly pushed into a pond has always been the one that has created most enquiries, and I wonder why no further research has been done -- I can't believe someone has not been out there with some sort of equipment to check this one out....unless someone has!
