Aviation History Magazine, May 2001, Pg. 74, "letters" has one from H.L. Richards (Springville, Alabama) where he states that when he was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in the 1953-54 period, the "last" seven existing F-82s flew in from the (United) States in their final mission.
. . . "those same aircraft were later disassembled and pushed into the base dump by a bulldozer at the north end of the field between Elmendorf and Fort Richardson. They are probably still there under tons of other discarded military waste . . ."
Well . . . ?
Saludos!
