I notice in the blurb about the handing over of the new restoration centre at Cosford that the RAFM still intends to do a "before and after" or "half and half" restoration on the Hampden.
What do people think about this?
Is it a valid restoration technique or just a way of reducing time/spend on the restoration? I've certainly only ever seen it done with a Military vehicle - are there any planes in as bad a state as the Hampden done like this?
My view is that if they want an example of "before" then they have the Halifax (although we can but hope that that might change in time).
If you're going to the trouble to restore one side then it's probably easier to do both sides at the same time
comments,views or flames anybody?
