It almost became a warbird......if the Germans hadn't invaded France.
It was to be called the M110P, and the project to turn it into a fighter was quite advanced before it had to stop.
I agree, it certainly is a beaut of an aeroplane, I was looking at pics in Classic Wings yesterday, now on display at the EAA Museum, and I would just love to see one of them fly someday.
