In my opinion, for the most part well said. Historic aircraft are more than the people who own and/or fly them, and I think if the opportunity is there they should be rebuilt. Paying homage to an enthusiast is a nice thing, but not at the expense of a viable airframe. I do get a little perturbed when people say those that are killed flying vintage aircraft "died doing what they loved". I dont't think anyone wants to be killed doing something they are supposed to be good at. If you could ask the deceased pilot, I would guess they would be more embarrassed than anything else.
