Airplane in a barn . . . or in a corner of an airfield . . .

We all have had our good and bad museum visits. But, we all have either dreamt or been at the proverbial barn (or hangar, warehouse, and so on) where a surprise had been waiting for us.

So, to start this thread, I will offer a few of my finds:

4 PT-17s rotting away in an Honduran airfield.
A RR Merlin Engine in a canister.
A Cessna UC-78, that everyone thought long dead, found 40 years by yours truly, in the middle of a junk yard.
A P-47 wing, used as a gate!
T-6 wings used to span rain ditches, as pedestrian bridges.
The remains of a couple of P-26 fighters.
4 Bell UH-1H helicopters, complete but abandoned in an airfield.

There are more, but it would take forever to list.

Saludos!

Tulio
