That would be N69X, which I have seen referred to variously as a P-51K and a P-51D (of course the propeller was the main difference anyway). Walt got it from a scrapyard after it had met with some sort of accident; I believe the outer wings were missing by that time. The WW Directory says N69X passed to Brian O'Farrell at Hialeah FL (he's the guy who recovered most of the Dominican AF F-51Ds circa 1984). I did not see any sign of a P-51 when I visited Walt's, and think N69X was already gone by then (1982). He seems to have had the Mustang only a few years. I don't remember the serial off the top of my head but it's in the WW Directory and probably also on the Registry...
