Hi all,
The debate about provenance of a certain airframe identity has been discussed many times on the variours boards recently. This is a very interesting subject and I never seem to lose my interest when reading the various posts and opinions.
But regarding the Dick Melton DM00. series of Spitfire reconstruction/rebuilds I personally would welcome a reconstructed Spit without any former serial but just DM00. in the same fashion as used by the RAF.
Wonder how the people would react then if the aircraft was flying at airshows, and in formation with aircraft with a conformed provenance. Would we still consider it to be a Spitfire?
I know I would, but what do you think? Let's heat up this debate
