My opinion is that the production would have to be kept under ten to keep the price up and make prospective buyers actually put some money up front quicker instead of waiting until the aircraft are built, as with the 262's and 190's. If you look at the I-16's from Wanaka they were having a hell of a job selling these little beauts and they were only up for a snip anyway, Steven Grey wanted the Novsibirsk factory who actually built them to build him one until they quoted a rather inflated rate, so he dropped the idea, shame because I love these little suckers. I think that the powerplant problem would be the major stumbling block for any project of this type (KI61 Hein for example) as a suitable inverted vee just isn't available until someone finds a batch of mint DB's in Russia (it could happen because there's still loads of stuff out there that we don't know about) we just need to get some good mafia contacts and a rather large suitcase.....lol
