Hi Alan
That certainly is a different paint scheme on the Martlet. Well researched you say? Can you direct us to the photos where NZ painted a Martlet up this way? I am having trouble finding it in all of my books. Surely Aero-Mod must be prepared to have proof that NZ had Martlets (or maybe one only) painted in such an outlandish scheme since they went through all the trouble to match paint chips etc.
Silly me, I can't even find where NZ even had a Martlet Mk VI.
Cheers

: I had a chance to speak with veteran CAF Wildcat pilot, Ji

: It appears that one or two of the Wix'ers have again wante
: d to slam dunk most anything CAF. So here is a rebuttal...
: ...
: 1. The Wildcat, now painted as a Martlet VI was not painte
: d by a CAF crew. It was painted by a company based in Midl
: and called Aero-Mod.
: 2. The color chips were supplied to Aero Mod by aircraft d
: onor/sponsor Bob Reiss. These color chips are reported to
: be authentic New Zealand colors, not British (remember the
: trip the aircraft took to New Zealand?).... I might add t
: hat Mr Reiss is an avid historian.
: The aircraft does look a bit different, but is certainly a
: n eye catcher. You either like it or not, no sitting on th
: e fence. Jim also stated that Aero Mod had an extremely di
: fficult time matching the paint chips supplied to them.
