Unless this is a seldom seen one off NZ paint, I didn't know they operated them either. I am sure they being historians will show us the right path. But first off. I do not thinkthat you have to donate time or money to a cause to comment on it. Working as a part of the "industry" gives you that say I suppose, but opinions for good reason are free. The aircraft must be in great condition to fly, and noone is faulting that. But a "retro" 70's warbird scheme! Why? Don't we still have blue Lou IV Mustangs running around? Paint it yellow with purple dots for all I care, its your plane. But don't try and shove it down my throat that you are flying a living memorial to the memories of...and tell me that its original. That is more damaging to history than you may think. If you want to see a great looking Wildcat, look at Tom Camp's FM-2. Is it that hard to match paint? No, but if you subsitute gloss for flat, add masked camo lines and who knows what else, it don't look too stock. Every different paint job has its place. But this is a 70's effort.
