: Working on putting up a site on the history of the German

: s aircraft while it was in Canada and rescued in 1963.
:
: In this collection of pictures was a photo of another Me10
: 9 that was in the US during the War and later purchased by
: a "war relic collector" living in the upper eastern US. H
: e apparently couldn't find a buyer and the aircraft was sc
: rapped for $100 in 1948.
:
: It was painted in the same scheme as the Me109 Wrk 1190 as
: the photo indicates. Was wondering if anyone has any clue
: & what the Wrk no. is for this aircraft?
:
: I will try and get the photo and or more clues on another

This was the aeroplane once owned by a chap called Jarrett I belive? Col Jarrett if memory serves correct and it was in Seattle area - was it something like the Birmingham Proving Grounds?? He had loads of material, all of it since scrapped.
Yes I have seen or got pictures of this 109, too. It was White 4, with JG 26 emblems etc. As I recall the pic showed it with wings off and standing on its legs next to a small hut or building. The same one? Never knew the W.Nr but think we concluded it was a tropical 109. The similarity to 1190 was just a coincidence it seems.
