How that Virus Works

It does look in Cache and any documents in My Documents file for email addresses

It exploits a security hole in Outlook Express 5

You could upgrade to IE 6 and OE 6 (free from Microsoft). As a tip I have Winows check automatically for latest security patches and releases on www.windowsupdate.com and therefore I get notification of all the security patches and new releases which makes my machine more secure. I know this works with XP, NT, 2000 but not so sure on 98 and ME
