I thought thast why the Spitfire I-SPIT was sold.. Something to do with difficultly with getting Italian CAA agreement on high performance warbirds.. But it may be insurance (I am sorry if I got this wrong)..

I know that most warbirds are of the light variety or texan type in Italy for a reason.....
