As far as I know I-SPIT was sold and left Italy due to lack of a suitable maintenance infrastructure (specialist knowledge) for this kind of aircraft there. Another issue that I have heard bothers general aviation in Italy is a luxury tax on privately operated aircraft (which may however not have come into force until it left; not sure).
