Hi Richard et al--
Had a look at oldprops' file of Neptune pix; I still think our mystery hulk is an early model P-2. Of all the Neptunes shown on oldprops, only one is an early flat-canopied version, SP-2E 131542, and if you compare the windshield/canopy framing of that one to what's in Scott's pic, it looks the same--and completely different from the more familiar late "bubbletop" flightdeck of the later models that have survived in larger numbers. The escape hatch on top of the cockpit would seem to be missing on the hulk, also, which throws the proportions off a bit...
However I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong; there aren't many BV222s or Halibags about, after all!
