Check out the photos on this website for proof. Just for starters, the fuselage height, relative to the height of the cockpit windows is all wrong. The aircraft we are looking for is HUGE, which pretty much narrows it down to a large bomber, transport or flying boat. I agree that flying boats typically have a high wing, but the Bv-222 is somewhere between a high wing, and a mid-wing. The aircraft in the photo looks closest to a Bv-222, but for the strange appearance of the canopy, and the bow door, which is squared, and too far to the rear. The opening that looks like the bow door could of course be simply a piece of skin that was removed somehow. I am still unsure of what this aircraft is though.
