David,

I know that FP cannot be expected to go out into the fields and start recovering aircraft bits and pieces. All I am saying is that what they started when they launched FP, they abandoned a long time ago. As you know there is a great interest in the aviation archaeology but nothing of that is published in FP in the same fashion they did in the eighties. There are so many activities going at the moment of which the editorial staff of FP must know but are not publishing it. Why is that? I read the thread on the FP forum about the dumpsites at airfields etc and it turned into a heated debate with many people also wondering why those paging were discarded.

If the staff of FP only read forums like this they would know and could fill several pages with interesting newsitems people really would want to read. Personally I am one of those who started in this kind of work through Flypast in the early eighties, and there must be even more.

There is so much more going on today that people would like to read. It should be what the public would like to read not what the editor would want to, correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers

Cees
