There were two P-38's sold at that auction. The flyable example purchased at a record price of I believe $1.5million. Also another P-38 was sold in several pieces(possible crashed). It was purchased by Mr.REILLY or for a customer of his. I belive this is the P-38 on BARNSTORMERS.
As a fabricator I believe anything can be built(they did it once) or rebuilt,its just a question of how long do you want to wait and how much you will spend.
