This would be an incredible aircraft to recover since there is only one other early modle B17 remaining. It is a shame that this airplane was cut up and vandalised (obviously by some who knew what they wanted and what they were doing). However, the fact that this B17 has been there since 1941 and not recovered is the bigger shame. If the government is prohibiting this recovery, then I hope those who stole the pieces off of this airplane will put them to good use by making another one "live". This would not be the first time this ever happened!
