I recieved a book yesterday called 'Endstation Dschungel Auf der Suche nach Flugzeugwrtacks in Papua-Neuguinea' by Axel Thorer, published in 1989.

This roughly translates as 'A Search for Aircraft Wrecks in Papua New Guinea Jungle'

I knew this book was in German, (which I cannot read!) but I was hoping that this would contain lots of photos of aircraft wrecks in New Guinea, however, while it does have some, there are not many. It is more (I guess) a guide book to PNG as there are photos of locals in dress, birds etc..

Anyway I digest. The reason I got it, was I was told that there was a visit to a Junkers aircraft taken by the Author in the mid to late 1980's.. Well both a JU-52 and Ju-33 are certainly mentioned but my lack of German means I can't undertand what the author is saving..

A lot of info comes from the Charles Darby book, I know that because it says 'Darby' and 'bible' in the same sentence!

It mentions the Fairy IIIF in Wewak in an Appendix, this is one I want some more info on, but this looks like it is from
the Darby book.. As I cannot find reference in the text. The B-26 on Kiriwina is mentioned..

Anyway Cee's have you seen or read this book?? I bought it over the Internet from your neck of the woods...
