That's an interesting post but in my opinion a 'recoverer' should get his or her hands dirty of they are just an intermediary. Writing a cheque doesn't take much effort (maybe some courage - or foolishness though) - finding, pulling the wreck out in the first place and dismantling it under difficult and often inhospitable conditions is the real tough work.
Russia (and some other european countries) is an unfortunate exception were there is a long money chain - most other places in the world - certainly the pacific - the recoverer will find, remove and export the wreck themselves.
