Hi bda
....but since you asked
I have visited about 80 crash sites in the UK, pacific and the mediterranean. Also been out to burma and bangladesh - less luck there but can't win all the time. Personally I have organised and led four recoveries - A B-17, two Whitley's and an Oscar from the jungle (a real toughie). I've taken part in some others as well - an A-20 in a lake whwere we pulled out some parts which are now in a museum and a P-39 with similar results - the last one was a small but very interesting affair in holland.
I also carried out some forensic work in Indonesia and the report i submitted led to a CILHI team being dispatched to investigate a site 'i' discovered (the locals knew about it for many years obviously)
So don't fret, i know what i am talking about and only go off on one when i'm qualified to.
