Hi Cees,
Is this the one you're thinking of?
Pilot Officer Wilson and the survivors of his crew. The Halifax is MZ465 of 51 Sqn. They collided with a Free French Halifax from Elvington on the Saarbrucken raid, 13/14th january 1945.
Two dead from MZ465, all lost from the French one.
The pilot was from Leicestershire so it seems unlikely that he would claim the panel for the A.W.M.
Or have I got the wrong incident?
Regards!
Alan

: Apparently the aircraft never flew again and the pilot cla

: My question is:
:
: Was this instrument panel indeed gifted to the AWM and do
: they still have it (and on display)?
