Hi all,
This reason why the Stirling is technically not extinct is the wreck of this aircraft lying at the bottom of the English channel (not counting the recently found fuselage of NA142 in France).
There were two articles in Aeroplane in the early eighties about the investigation of this wreck. Some bits of the mainspar were brought up and were in relatively good condition, the wreck will however not be recovered.
But, will the investigation of this wreck continue or will it just left to rot into infinity?
